VolunteerFEST Brings Good to the Community

“But the real prize of the evening seemed to be the treasured work that lies ahead for this enthusiastic group of do-gooders!”

riverview-gardensOn November 29, 2016, the Volunteer Center of East Central Wisconsin hosted its 4th Annual VolunteerFEST at Waverly Beach in Menasha.  It was a free and family friendly event highlighting 50 different nonprofit organizations.  They shared their missions and volunteer opportunities with over 300 people from the community.  Refreshments, including complimentary hors d’oeuvres and cash bar, were served in a relaxed setting for socializing with family and friends.

The scene was set for participants to not only socialize with each other, but also move about the room to explore a wide-range of volunteer opportunities.   Potential volunteers had an opportunity to find diverse, exciting, and interesting ways to share their talents with organizations from Outagamie, Calumet, and Winnebago counties.

The evening opened at 4:00 p.m. to both participants who registered, and also a generous number of walk-in gpb290360uests as well.  When the event drew to a close at 6:30 p.m. a lucky number of donated door prizes were given out to eager winners.  But the real prize of the evening seemed to be the treasured work that lies ahead for this enthusiastic group of do-gooders!

We would like to acknowledge and thank all of those who participated in, sponsored, and worked diligently to make this evening an enjoyable and successful event.  It wouldn’t be possible without the help and care of many great people.  The Volunteer Center is fortunate to have outstanding organizations such as Community First Credit Union and US Venture to sponsor such an event, in addition to a gracious and hospitable host in Waverly Beach.

We are truly grateful for all of the individuals in our community who volunteer every day to make the Fox Cities a better place to live!  We are honored to support and guide those who are looking for ways to give back.
