Fuel the Spirit of Service - 2025

UPDATE: Our Board of Directors is launching a matching challenge for GIVING TUESDAY: every donation will be matched 1:1 up to $1,600 before December 31. That means your gift goes twice as far to fuel the spirit of service and strengthen our community. $25 becomes $50, $50 becomes $100, and together, we can inspire connection and ignite change. Don’t miss this chance to double your impact!

At Volunteer Fox Cities, we believe in the power of people helping people. Every day, we connect volunteers with nonprofits to strengthen the social fabric of our community.

Now, we’re asking you to invest in this work by making a donation that fuels the spirit of service.

Why Volunteerism Matters

Volunteerism shapes strong, resilient communities. It improves mental and physical health, reduces stress, increases happiness and lowers risk of chronic illness. Volunteers also make up 1/3 of the nonprofit workforce at a time when the services local nonprofits provide are more important than ever.

But a healthy volunteer ecosystem doesn’t just happen – it takes talented and committed staff and dedicated resources.

New Leadership, Same Commitment to Community

In September of this year we welcomed Carolyn Desrosiers as our new Chief Executive Officer. Carolyn brings a deep passion for civic engagement and a clear vision for how volunteerism can drive lasting change across the Fox Cities. Under her leadership, we’re expanding how we connect people, nonprofits, and businesses through meaningful service. We’re excited about the phenomenal team we’ve put in place to execute our mission.

A New Partnership and New Home

In 2025, we officially launched a new partnership with United Way Fox Cities, aligning our efforts to make it easier than ever for individuals and companies to give back, co-locating at their office on Midway Rd. Together, we’re amplifying volunteer opportunities and streamlining how our community connects to causes that matter.

Our Longest-Serving Difference-Maker

This year we honored the legacy of Anne Kidd, the longest-serving volunteer in our Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), which serves over 250 seniors. Sadly, Anne passed away on Oct. 10 after 26 years of service with RSVP, contributing over 7,700 volunteer hours and touching countless lives. She supported many nonprofits, local first responders, and was active in our Hooks & Needles knitting group. In 2021, she was honored with the Governor’s Service Award.

Anne once said:

“There’s so much in life you can’t control. But there is one thing you can control – your willingness to give.”

Choosing to Give

This year, we’ve supported more than 150 nonprofits and volunteers who give their time and hearts to make our region stronger. But we can’t do it alone.

By choosing to give, your donation keeps volunteerism strong and honors legacies like Anne’s.

Please make a year-end gift to Volunteer Fox Cities today. Together, we’ll continue turning compassion into action — one volunteer, one project, and one life at a time.
